Dear Reader,
Thank you for joining me as I grow this business. I hope that I can uplift and inspires you on your journey of motherhood. Please make sure you add jess@transitionsofmotherhood.com to your contacts so you don't miss any updates.
As the holidays end I am feeling really worn down, but grateful for the start of a new year. This quote above really resonated with me lately as I have received a lot of comments about my mothering. It seems everyone knows how to do it better and they don't mind letting me know. It's hard when you are around your family and they all want to "help." Even when it comes from the best of places it can still hurt. The thing is I know I'm a good mom for my children. I know I am far from perfect and not the version I want to be of myself all the time. However, I am trying. If you have felt the same thing lately hopefully this will give you that reminder that there are so many ways to be a good mother. Regardless of what someone else might think about it, you can still be a good mom.
And as the new year begins we can all set goals to grow and improve as we move forward. Some of my goals for the year are to learn to have a healthier relationship with my phone so I can be present more with my children. I want to prioritize more of my own self care including getting back into a healthy workout routine. It's been about 6 years since I worked out on a regular basis (I know as a health professional who preaches healthy living it's shameful). And Finally I want to be consistent with this blog even when I feel like no one is reading it. (So thank you for reading it)
Please share with me your goals and I would love to continue to check in with each other throughout the year. I know progress for me is much better when I know someone is going to ask me about how I'm doing. So feel free to reach out and check in with me too!
I have really been focusing on content lately to help women in the postpartum period. It is often something that takes us by surprise because we don't really prepare for it like other stages of pregnancy. Checkout some new added content this week! Feel free to share it with any friends or family that you think may benefit from it.
How to Make Your Own Exclusively Pumping ScheduleThere are many reasons why someone may need to exclusively pump for a period of time or throughout the first year of their child's life. It can be very taxing. If this is something you are considering I would highly recommend reading.
